    UTENSIL FOR THE IMMOBILIZATION OF ANIMALS
    Field of the Invention
    The present invention relates to a tool for the immobilization of animals, by means of clamping and subsequent lifting of one of its legs, preferably one of the rear legs.
    The utensil of the invention is especially applicable for holding domestic quadruped animals, such as pigs, which can move freely and it is necessary to immobilize for veterinary, transport, slaughter, etc.
    Background of the invention
    Generally, when it is necessary to immobilize an animal, which can move freely, we proceed to hold it manually by some part of the body, usually grabbing one of its legs. This operation involves certain difficulties, since it is necessary to reach the animal, which will normally tend to run, and hold it tightly by one of its hind legs until its immobilization is achieved. This operation may even present certain risks, due to possible injuries, until it is possible to securely hold the animal.
    Description of the invention
    The present invention aims to eliminate the exposed problems, by means of a tool that allows the immobilization of an animal to be carried out, by holding one of its legs, without having to hold said leg with the hands, so that eliminate the risk of injury to the person or people trying to immobilize the animal.
    On the other hand, by means of the tool of the invention, the operation is simplified, the necessary times are reduced and a greater securing security is achieved.
    According to the invention, the tool for holding animals is composed of two equal, coplanar and resistant arms, for example of steel, which are joined together by an intermediate articulation axis that is perpendicular to the plane defined by both arms . The point of articulation determines in each arm two sections of different lengths, a first section of greater length and preferably straight layout and a second section of rather shorter length and curved layout, the two sections of curved layout being faced by concave ally.
    The described utensil is handled through the section of greater length, as if it were a clamp. When the sections of greater length are attached or close to each other, the sections of shorter length are also supported by each other, through the free end thereof, determining a closed or almost closed contour.
    The CUIVES sections will be sized so that in the closed position they delimit an outline of width less than the diameter of the animal's leg to which the utensil is intended.
    To immobilize an animal with the utensil of the invention, it will be sufficient to embrace one of the rear legs thereof, by means of the curved sections, holding and manipulating with the longer lengths, so that when approached they can be exerted on the leg of the animal desired pressure, through the curved sections.
    In order that lesions do not occur on the animal's attached leg and at the same time achieve a more secure hold, the curved sections of the two arms of the tool have, at least on the concave side, a cushion cover, for example based on an elastically deformable material.

    Detailed description of one embodiment
    Figures 1 and 2 show, in partially open and closed positions, respectively, the utensil of the invention, which is constituted by two equal arms 1 and 2 and copy Aryans, which are joined by an intermediate point through a articulation axis (3) that is perpendicular to the plane defined by the arms (1 and 2). The mentioned point of articulation delimits in each arm two sections of different lengths, a first straight section (4) of greater length and a second section (5) curved and of much shorter length. In both arms the second sections (5) are faced by a concave ally.
    With this constitution, similar to a clamp, separating the first sections (4) of both arms from each other, figure 1, the separation of the second sections also occurs

    Using the described utensil, holding it through the first straight sections (4) of the arms (1 and 2), you can hug a back leg (7) of the animal (6) between the second curved sections (5), approaching below the first sections (4) to also approximate the second curved sections (5) and partially close the bounded contour between said curved sections, pressing between them the leg of the animal that is thus strongly attached, depending on the pressure we exert on the first straight sections (4), being able to then raise the animal's leg to achieve its immobilization.
    The first sections (4) of the two arms of the utensil can be finished off in handles or extreme handles (8).
    The second curved sections (5) can have, at least on the concave side, a cushion cover (9), figure 3, for example based on an elastically compressible material, which will ensure the attachment of the animal's leg (5) and prevent injuries to occur on it.
